Why I Support The Burden

My name is Jon Gensler, a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and a war veteran, who appears in The Burden.  Last week I had the pleasure of joining writer/director Roger Sorkin to present and discuss the fine cut of the film with cadets and faculty at West Point. It was the film's first live audience and it was, in the words of one of the faculty members, "a homerun" and a "perfect capstone" to the academic year.

For me, our lively discussion with a group of graduating cadets, who might be more vulnerable in future armed conflicts because of our dependence on fossil fuels, intensified the urgency of the film's unique message. I believe it is the story for helping end our fossil fuel dependence as soon as possible.

Building dialogue around The Burden and the Kickstarter campaign helps ensure that this important message is heard across the country, but we can't do it without your help. Our campaign is nearing the homestretch, so I'm asking you to please make your contribution today.

Be sure to check out my guest appearance in this week's short video update on The Burden's Kickstarter page, where you can join the growing community of supporters helping to change the conversation on climate change and energy security once and for all.

Thank you for being one of The Burden's most ardent supporters.

With gratitude,

Jon Gensler
